After exfoliation using the NewApeel system, we infuse the skin with one of our four signature Hydration Facial treatments using the HydroWand. Perfectly formulated and designed for optimum skin penetration, these treatments are an effective way to improve skin texture and appearance. The following treatments are available.
Acne Hydration Facial contains a heavy duty combination of 6% Alpha Hydroxy Acids (AHA), 2% salicylic acid and Niacinamide. AHA’s act as an exfoliant on the top layer of skin, stimulating growth and thickening of the skin. Salicylic acid is clinically proven to clean out sebaceous pores by solubilizing oil and dirt. It also acts as an anti-inflammatory and antiseptic. Niacinamide reduces sebum production and reduces pore size. This combination acts double duty to reverse the signs of aging. Contains 6% Alpha hydroxy acids (glycolic acid and lactic acid), 2% Salicylic Acid, Niacinamide
Deep Hydration Facial uses petides, ceramides, and sodium PCA to lock in moisture. Peptides stimulate collagen and elastin synthesis from skin fibroblasts thus reducing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. Ceramides facilitates natural structural lipids located between dermal cells that in turn deeply moisturizes and protects skin by restoring a natural barrier to damage. Sodium PCA is a naturally occurring humectant, which binds water and provides deep moisturizing to penetrate inner skin layers. Contains Ceramides, Sodium PCA, Palmitoyl pentapeptide-3, Panthenol, Allantoin, Hyaluronic acid.
Even Tone Hydration Facial packs in niacinamide, arbutin, kojic acid, hydroquinone and natural extracts for a powerful skin lightening punch. It decreases skin blotchiness, hyperpigmentation and texture by hindering the transfer of melanin to skin cells, increasing skin moisture, blocking skin synthesis of melanin and reducing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. Contains Niacinamide, arbutin, kojic acid, hydroquinone, N-acetyl glucosamine, ascorbic acid, licorice extract, bearberry extract, and mulberry extract.
Vitamin C Hydration Facial with 10% ascorbic acid and alpha tocopherol works as an anti-aging shield that protects the skin against free radicals. The potent combination of Vitamin C and Vitamin E stimulates collagen production and antioxidant protection against environmental damage and slows down skin aging. Alpha lipoic acid is a proven anti-oxidant and anti-aging compound. Hyaluronic acid is an effective moisturizer to provide deep hydration. Contains 10% Ascorbic acid, alpha tocopherol, alpha lipoic acid, hyaluronic acid.
PRP (Platelet Rich Plasma) Facial
Every now and then the beauty industry throws us a wild card – a new strange way to turn back time or to momentarily stop the clock. One such treatment that’s growing in popularity is PRP injections and in case you’ve had your head in the sand Kim Kardashian has just tried it out. She posted this gruesome looking picture post treatment to show the specks of blood on her skin – and while it does look a bit sore PRP is fast becoming a celebrity must-try treatment.
PRP refers to platelet rich plasma – which is effectively a composition of blood – your own – that is injected into the areas you wish to plump up. At first it can sound pretty sinister – which has given rise to nicknames such as the Vampire Facial and Dracula Therapy – but having spoken to the leading PRP experts, it’s clear that the spookiest thing about PRP injections is the results as you mysteriously start to look fresher faced in the months following your treatment.
What is PRP?
PRP is not all that new – platelet rich plasma injections have been around for decades, helping athletes to heal sports related injuries (they’re particularly helpful at healing tendon damage) but increasingly the benefits of PRP are being used in beauty. The platelet rich plasma that is injected is a concentrated formula of your own platelets which makes it rich in growth factors. Such growth factors are needed to repair the body, and come in handy too when trying to fight the signs of ageing. When going for a PRP treatment the practitioner will take some blood from you – imagine going for a beauty blood test – then that blood is processed using a mechanical device to seperate the platelets from the rest of the blood making the concentration of platelets three to four times the normal level. The processing part of the treatment doesn’t take long – on average 20 minutes, as the different elements are divided – red blood cells, white blood cells, platelets etc, then the clear platelet rich plasma is ready to inject back in the places that need the most attention.
How does it work?
If we already have blood in our bodies, you might ask what is the benefit of reinjecting it? It could all be seen as rather pointless – if it wasn’t for the fact that processing the blood increases the levels of platelets far beyond their normal concentration to boost the skin’s ability to rejuvenate. Mr Golchin says: “When platelets are activated in the body, they release healing proteins called growth factors. These growth factors have a range of responsibilities, a predominant feature of which is their ability to accelerate tissue repair and improve wound healing.” When PRP is injected into the skin, the injection entry point causes a small wound which activates the platelets and lets them get to work repairing the tissue in that area. (Hence Kim Kardashian’s bloody looking face). Effectively PRP is encouraging your body to use it’s own processes but more effectively in the places that are starting to need a bit of extra help.
What about the results?
PRP will give your skin more natural radiance and a glow that will get people telling you how well you look. It’s a much more natural approach to anti-ageing – both for the fact you’re using your body’s own material and for the fact the results develop over time. Immediately post treatment you may have some redness and spotting but in terms of looking more youthful you’ll have to be patient. It also makes sense that the younger you are the better the result as your body’s natural healing processes are quicker. Gradually your skin will have a subtle improvement that will give you a fresher look than before – without putting anything foreign into the skin. To increase the impact of the results we suggests having one treatment every month for three months then you should be able to enjoy the benefits of PRP for up to 18 months after that.
Who is it best for?
PRP will offer the best results to those interested in improving their skin’s condition and appearance. It is an effective method to treat fine lines, improve the overall texture of the skin, and for those with bad acne scarring as it helps the skin’s healing processes.
A two pronged approach?
Combine the PRP Facial with laser treatments for dramatic results!
You can embrace the aging process gracefully and still have a healthy and youthful-looking appearance. To do this, you don’t have to look further than your own body for a natural fountain of youth. You have inside of you the power to heal and regenerate tissue in all areas of your body. Stem cells do this for you every day of your life. Cosmetic Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) Facial Rejuvenation is a leading-edge procedure that harnesses the healing power of platelets and growth factors from your blood to stimulate a stem cell response. These stem cells help you to grow new collagen and blood vessels, repair and regenerate damaged skin, and help slow and reverse the signs of aging.
As we age, most women experience a loss of volume and skin integrity that results in common cosmetic complaints, which include the following:
Lip and frown lines
Deep depressions around the nose and mouth
Volume loss in the cheeks
Sagging around the jaw line
Overall loss of healthy, youthful skin texture and tone
The face becomes longer and more rectangular as the natural aesthetic curves begin to flatten. The natural aging process can be accelerated by genetics, facial expressions and extrinsic factors like a poor diet, smoking and sun exposure. These all cause oxidative stress, a key component of the aging process, that appears as fine lines, hyperpigmentation, unevenness of skin tone, sagging skin and advanced wrinkling.
Platelet Rich Plasma
Platelet rich plasma (PRP) is an extract of your own blood that contains three to five times more platelets, growth factors, and active proteins for tissue and injury healing. It has been used medically for years to accelerate wound healing; repair tendon, ligament and joint damage; heal diabetic ulcers; and help regrow muscle and bone. When PRP is placed back into the skin by injection or micro-needling, it initiates a localized stem cell response. Over the weeks and months following treatment, this stem cell response recruits collagen-producing cells called fibroblasts. The fibroblasts replace tissue that has been damaged or lost through the aging process with healthy skin that looks refreshed and rejuvenated.
Advantages of Cosmetic PRP
The potential benefits of PRP have led to a recent widespread interest in its use for anti-aging and regenerative purposes. The healing properties of the blood components in PRP can be used as a cosmetic treatment for the following:
Reducing fine lines and wrinkles
Tightening and toning skin
Mild collagen and volume loss
Crow’s feet and dark under eye circles
Within a few weeks of treatment, an overall improvement in skin hydration, texture and tone can be seen. New collagen and blood vessels begin to grow after three to six weeks, and reduction of fine lines and wrinkles and volume correction happens over the next three to six months. The effects of Cosmetic PRP can last 12 months to two years, depending on the individual. While it creates a longer-lasting effect in the skin, it does take time to work. For women looking for an immediate effect, Cosmetic PRP can be combined with hyaluronic acid fillers for quick volume correction. Fillers provide a matrix for building new collagen and can be used to accelerate and sustain the benefits of Cosmetic PRP.
Is Cosmetic PRP Right for You?
Cosmetic wants and needs are unique to every woman and should be addressed individually. Often, women are looking for a refreshed, rejuvenated and youthful appearance without looking frozen or over-plumped, without aggressive surgery, chemicals or toxins. This can be done with the right combination of proper diet and lifestyle, skincare products and carefully chosen cosmetic procedures.
Some age-related concerns respond better to Cosmetic PRP, while others respond better to hyaluronic acid fillers, peels or laser resurfacing techniques. The effects of all these treatments are enhanced by using them together, in the right way, under the guidance of the right skincare team. Women and men of all ages can benefit from Cosmetic PRP.
The Cosmetic PRP Procedure
Prior to the Cosmetic PRP procedure, a consultation is done to assess cosmetic needs and determine the best combination of treatments to achieve the desired result. A simple blood collection is done and processed immediately in a special centrifuge. This concentrates and separates the platelet-rich plasma from the rest of the blood. After numbing the area being treated, the PRP is injected or reapplied to the skin using a micro-needling device. Proper after-care and follow-up is done as a part of all treatments.
Cosmetic PRP is a simple and safe procedure. The most common side effects are mild swelling and bruising that may last three to seven days. Because the PRP is extracted from your own blood, there is no risk of disease transmission, allergic or immune reaction. As with all cosmetic procedures, however, there are certain health conditions, such as autoimmune and blood disorders, that may limit its use. There is exciting potential for the use of PRP in regenerative, anti-aging and cosmetic medicine. It is a safe, effective and natural way of harnessing the healing power of your own blood to help reverse the signs of aging. As part of an integrated approach to skincare that addresses both internal and external factors, Cosmetic PRP can be your natural fountain of youth.
