How Does CoolSculpting Work?
There’s a reason people call CoolSculpting “fat freezing.” It’s based on cryolipolysis, which is the destruction of fat cells with targeted cooling. Don’t worry—fat freezes at a higher temperature than skin and muscle, so CoolSculpting won’t cause any damage to the surrounding tissues.
Once these fat cells are destroyed, your body naturally metabolizes them and flushes them out, leaving behind a slimmer and more sculpted shape.
For an even more toned and tight figure, try combining CoolSculpting with muscle-building treatment truSculpt® flex, which strengthens and defines targeted muscle groups.
Who Is an Ideal CoolSculpting Candidate?
CoolSculpting is perfect for anyone who is dedicated to staying in shape but who can’t seem to tone up specific targeted areas—your tummy, thighs, or upper arms, for example. Though individual results vary, you can expect to see a 20% to 25% fat reduction in your treated areas. However, it’s important to remember CoolSculpting is a body contouring enhancement, not a weight-loss treatment.
What Happens During a CoolSculpting Treatment?
CoolSculpting treatments only take about an hour per treatment area and don’t require any needles, numbing, or incisions. You’ll lie comfortably back as we attach the applicator to your targeted area. As the cooling process begins, you’ll feel some intense cold before the area eventually goes numb. Then you’ll relax, grab a nap, or check your Insta feed until the treatment’s complete. The area will warm back up (you might feel some tingling or “thawing” at this point), and you’ll be free to head back to your usual activities, including work and the gym, right away.
When Will I See My CoolSculpting Results?
It takes about 1 to 3 months for your results to develop. Your body metabolizes your treated fat cells and naturally flushes them out, so you won’t necessarily see an immediate difference. After a couple of months, however, you should notice a slimmer shape when you look in the mirror or slide on your favorite pair of jeans.
How Long Do CoolSculpting Results Last?
You’ll enjoy long-lasting results after your CoolSculpting session. Once your body flushes out those treated fat cells, they’re gone for good. You’ll see the best results if you continue a healthy lifestyle and avoid any major fluctuations in your weight. If you do gain weight in the future, though, you’ll gain it more evenly across your body instead of storing it primarily in the same trouble spots.
I did coolsculpting on my belly 6 days ago and I am experiencing severe stomach pain from the area. I tried taking tylenol and motrin and nothing is helping to relieve the pain. I was told the procedure would be “pain free”.

I had Coolsculpting about 2 weeks ago on my inner thighs and arms. I’m and I was close to my ideal weight. I was told I would probably need 2 treatments in my thighs which was not surprising. I have seen a straighter inner thigh so far and it’s only been 2 weeks. My arms has had an ever so slightly result but again only 2 weeks. Absolutely no regrets.

The lower abdomen is less saggy and has reduced in size. It is obvious for me that there is a good improvement and loss in fat at the treated area.Paired with better diet and exercise, I am very satisfied with it and willing to go through the numbness and uncomfortable sensations.
