How Does a PDO Thread Lift Work?
PDO thread lifts use durable, absorbable threads that our doctors insert using a blunt-tip cannula that limits trauma to your tissues. The threads have cogs with a barbed texture that grabs at loose tissue inside the skin and repositions it as the doctors remove the cannula, lifting the skin. The barbed threads provide a better lift than smooth sutures and stimulate increased collagen production.
You can get a PDO thread lift on its own or as part of our customized Cleopatra Brow Lift package for the ultimate snatched brow. If you’re looking for a nonsurgical butt lift, try combining PDO threads with JUVÉDERM® Ultra Plus injections as part of our Booty Boost package.
What Happens During a PDO Thread Lift?
Before beginning a PDO thread lift, we inject the treatment area with a local anesthetic to make sure you’re totally comfortable. Once the area is completely numb, one of our aesthetic professionals inserts the threads using a blunt-tip cannula that's designed to penetrate the skin without damaging blood vessels or skin tissue. It's also flexible, allowing it to cover a larger area and minimize the number of injection sites while still creating stunning results. Your treatment may last anywhere from 15 to 60 minutes, depending on the area.
What Is Recovery Like After a PDO Thread Lift?
One of the benefits of a PDO thread lift is that the recovery time is no big deal compared to more invasive facial rejuvenation treatments. You may feel a bit of discomfort once the local anesthetic wears off, but an over-the-counter medication should be enough to manage your pain. You should avoid touching or washing your face for 12 hours after the procedure. Swelling and bruising may last up to a week, and it can take 1 to 2 months for the area to heal completely.
Even though you'll notice immediate results, your new collagen will develop gradually and you'll see your skin become tighter and smoother over the next few weeks.
